Laptop
Stay on task this year. Bringing a laptop to class allows you to take notes efficiently, access digital resources instantly, and stay organized with assignments and class materials.

Composition Notebook
You will need to bring a composition book to class each day for bellwork writing assignments. Each day will begin with an ACT Word of the Day. You will provide a written response that helps build vocabulary and prepare for college.
You will also use the ACE Writing Model to strengthen critical thinking and writing skills.
ACE stands for:
Answer the question
Cite evidence
Explain your reasoning
.

Step 2: Generate a question

Step 3: ACE Response
A – Answer the question:

have had to acquiesce to a group decision in which I didn’t fully agree.
C – Cite evidence:
For example, during a group project last semester, my team decided to present a topic I wasn’t interested in. I shared my opinion, but they voted to go with the majority choice.
E – Explain your reasoning:
Even though I didn’t agree, I acquiesced because I didn’t want to hold up the progress of the group. Sometimes, it's better to go along with a decision for the sake of teamwork and cooperation, even if it's not your preference.
